About Me
Hannah Ali Khan
Playwright and Screenwriter
Hannah Ali Khan is a Bristol-based writer for stage and screen with a love for the extraordinary stories of ordinary people. Her writing is personal, vibrant and accessible, blending drama with humour to create bold yet familiar characters rooted in today’s Britain. She is particularly interested in writing for and about young adults, British Asians, and women, reflecting the worlds around her and sharing intersectional experiences rarely seen onstage.

Hannah studied MA Drama Writing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2022/23, and has taken part in several schemes including North Wall Catalyst (2022), Kali Theatre Discovery (2023/24), Channel 4 New Writers Scheme (2024/25), Exeter Northcott Elevate (2025) and Oxford Playhouse Playmakers (2025/26). She has been commissioned by Theatre West as part of Coralations (2025) and has written several plays including her one-woman play Cancer B*tch! which received Arts Council England funding for an R&D and work-in-progress performance in 2024 at Offbeat Festival in Oxford, where she was also selected as one of their Supported Artists.

Hannah is currently writing Urdu Play (working title) for Oxford Playhouse Playmakers, which will have an extract performed in Summer 2026. She is applying for ACE funding to tour her play Cancer B*tch! across the South in Autumn 2026, and her play Spark will be produced by Theatre West in Spring 2027. She is also working on a film script, Little Devil Girl, and a TV pilot, Beautiful Ones.
